The amount of CO2 emissions produced by passenger vehicle tailpipes is pretty staggering! The average car produces 120g of CO2/km traveled. Based on this figure how much CO2 do you produce every week?
Globally transportation is second to electricity production in emission creation, with passenger vehicles making up the most of the emissions from transportation.
Over on LinkedIn I shared this calculation of emissions created on a stretch of highway between Pretoria and Johannesburg. It’s now been viewed over 28,000 times.
The title of the post was “Here is a reason why companies need to enable remote working for knowledge workers immediately.” Allowing knowledge workers to not commute will make a MASSIVE impact on emission reduction and many countries are looking at how to encourage companies to allow this.
So around the world cities are beginning to legislate the use of fossil fuel driven vehicles and encouraging the following:
👩🏻💻Allowing people to work remotely
🖥Meeting online vs in-person
🚘Switching to Electric Vehicles (EV’s)
🛴Using eBikes
🚊Using clean energy public transport
🚲Cycling to work where possible

Many countries and cities have plans in place to completely ban internal combustion engine sales in future (See the list here)
I predict that the time frames proposed for this will be narrowed considerably over the next year or two as the climate crisis worsens.
How ready are you to drive less?

Buying a used car seems like a fairly easy process. The actual purchase is pretty simple. The hard part comes from finding the vehicle that best fits your wants and needs. How can you do this? Where should you look? used cars in olx
