Coal: Southeast Asia is moving in the right direction

A few days ago I shared some insights re “Stranded Assets” this is also discussed in this piece on what is playing out in South East Asia.
It’s fascinating to watch as the world begins to decouple from fossil fuels.
From this piece:
“A big sign of the shifting financial backing for coal regionally came in April as three top Singapore banks said they would stop financing new coal-fired power plants. And in a June meet of Asian coal leaders in Indonesia, they talked of the difficulties of securing finances for projects. Some experts believe that the majority of proposed coal plants won’t emerge.”
This is what needs to happen in South Africa too if we are going to make good on our climate commitments.
