Temperatures in Alaska

Temperatures in Alaska have now risen above melting point, meaning ice and glacier melt is going to accelerate.
The impacts of this are global. The first is obvious which is sea level rise. But it’s what lies beneath the ice that is concerning many scientists now - methane even more potent than CO2 when it comes to atmospheric warming.
We are already seeing feedback loops at play. Escaping methane will escalate the speed at which the earth warms.
