Google+ and the Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees - KKNK

The Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees - abbreviated to KKNK (which is Afrikaans for Little Karoo National Arts Festival) is an Afrikaans language festival that takes place each year in the South African town of Oudtshoorn, and based on the number of people the festival draws (approximately 80,000) it's the biggest South African arts festival.

It also attracts a huge number of artists (somewhere in the region of about 1,000)

It's really interesting that +Huisgenoot (Afrikaans for House Companion) a weekly Afrikaans-language general interest family magazine with the highest circulation figures of any South African magazine is encouraging festival goers to connect to their +Google+ Page.

Check out the Google+ logo at the stand (in the background of this pic)

To my knowledge this is the first time I have heard of or seen a major South African media outlet encouraging people to connect on Google+ as opposed to Facebook and Twitter.

Sign of the times! :)
